Barry's Bootcamp

While many gyms struggled to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic, Barry's Bootcamp decided to invest in themselves and continue progress on their newest Wicker Park location in Chicago. Their desire for this location was to show a different side of themselves — a side that was edgy, luxurious, and a little bit naughty. Amazing, right?

Because of the pandemic, Barry's Bootcamp team had slimmed down, and they had to hand more responsibility over to us. It was up to us to ensure we did the job to perfection. We were able to show them exactly what they wanted and level it up even more. In the end, it solidified our relationship for the future.

What we were able to create together was something magical. Barry's Bootcamp challenged us to utilize new types of materials and layer things in untraditional ways. We used items like Edison light bulbs and paired them with subway tile and neons to create a one-of-a-kind fitness studio experience. The result was soft yet industrial and hit the nail on the head for what they wanted.

I have worked with the Mowax team for over six years. They consistently come through, meeting and exceeding expectations. They understand the work holistically — they're able to meet our needs as a client, knowing when we needed something yesterday and adapt, knowing when we need to shine, and helping us add details that allow us to deliver the best-branded experiences. We have engaged with them recently for full creative development work (creative brainstorming through to production) for our Barry's studios — including our Red Room. Their design work shines through from the conceptual to the finished product.
